Oracabessa Bay Marine Reserve

One of the north coast's genuine conservation success stories. The Oracabessa Foundation manages this no-take reserve, and the fish populations have rebuilt to the point where snorkelling here is noticeably better than at most nearby sites — parrotfish, angelfish, and snapper in numbers you rarely see elsewhere on the coast. Entry is managed through the Foundation; masks and fins are available for hire. The reef is shallow enough for beginners and interesting enough for experienced snorkellers.
