Akumal is small enough that you can walk to most restaurants from anywhere in the village. The food leans toward Mexican-Caribbean fusion: ceviche, fresh fish, tacos al pastor, with a few Italian and American expat-run places thrown in. Prices are higher than in Tulum, much higher than in Mexican towns inland — you are paying for proximity to the beach.
