Akumal Dive Centre is one of the village's original dive operations, running reef dives, cavern dives, and full cave-diving courses since the 1980s. The house reef just offshore is accessible directly from the beach, and the shop organises day trips to Dos Ojos, Car Wash cenote, and the deeper sites along the coast.
Equipment rental is straightforward and the guides are experienced — particularly for cenote diving, which rewards a knowledgeable local guide who knows the cave systems. Open Water certification courses run regularly if you arrive as a non-diver and want to learn. Snorkel tours of Akumal Bay, including the turtle zone, can also be booked here.
