Colima has its own small airport, Aeropuerto Nacional de Colima, with daily flights from Mexico City and Tijuana. Most international visitors arrive via Guadalajara — three hours away by toll road — or fly into the larger Manzanillo airport on the coast and drive ninety minutes inland.
Long-distance buses are excellent and cheap. ETN and Primera Plus run comfortable hourly services from Guadalajara, with onward connections to Mexico City, Manzanillo, and Puerto Vallarta. The bus terminal sits about three kilometres east of the city centre; a taxi to the historic centre takes ten minutes.
