Colima is the kind of city where the main pleasure is just being there — wandering shaded plazas, drifting between museums and cafes, then looking up at the volcanoes that frame every street view. The sights are modest in number but high in quality, and you can see all of them in two unhurried days. Pre-Columbian ceramics, a handsome cathedral, a small but excellent regional museum, and the strange archaeological site of La Campana on the city's edge make up the core.
