Sabores

Sabores is a tiny lunchtime restaurant in the front room of a private house — one fixed menu, three or four courses, all prepared by the owner that morning. The cooking is straightforward Yucatec home food: a soup, a main of poc chuc or grilled fish, rice and beans, and a dessert.

You eat at one of half a dozen tables, alongside locals who come for the price (around US$8 for the lot) and the quality. There is no menu in the conventional sense; you just sit down and what comes, comes. Open lunch only, usually 12 to 3, and shut on Sundays.
