Getting There

Cuernavaca sits on the main Mexico City–Acapulco road and is one of the best-connected cities in the country for its size.

From Mexico City: The easiest connection is by bus from the Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente (TAPO) or the Terminal del Sur in Mexico City. Pullman de Morelos and other operators run frequent services; the journey takes between 60 and 90 minutes depending on traffic and the route (autopista or free road). The Cuernavaca bus terminal is at the Casino de la Selva, about 1km north of the zócalo. Taxis and microbuses to the centre are plentiful.

By car: Take the Mexico City–Cuernavaca autopista (toll road) from the Periférico Sur. The drive is about 80km and takes 60–90 minutes. The free road (old highway) through Tres Marías takes longer but is more scenic, passing through pine forest at altitude.

By air: The nearest airport is Aeropuerto Internacional Mariano Matamoros, though most international visitors arrive at Mexico City's airport and connect by bus.
