Things to Do

Cuernavaca packs an impressive range of sights into a compact centre. The colonial buildings around the zócalo — the Palacio de Cortés, the Cathedral, and the Jardín Borda — form the core. The Museo Robert Brady is the city's most surprising museum, a personal art collection of extraordinary range. A fifteen-minute walk west of the centre, the Salto de San Antón waterfall drops 40 metres into a basalt gorge in a pottery-making barrio. Beyond the centre, Xochicalco — a UNESCO World Heritage hilltop fortress — is one of the finest pre-Columbian sites in central Mexico and easily reached on a half-day trip.
