The Basilica-Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary anchors the historic center. The current neoclassical structure dates from the late 19th century, though a church has stood on this site since the city's founding. The shaded plaza in front is the heart of old Culiacan and a good starting point for a walk through the center.
