Desarrollo Urbano Tres Rios

Modern urban district on the riverfront with restaurants, shops and open plazas

Tres Rios is Culiacan's most ambitious modern urban project — a planned district built on reclaimed land where three rivers converge, with wide boulevards, a striking urban plaza, and a concentration of restaurants, shops, and office towers. It represents the city's aspirations as a modern regional capital and is notably different from the older colonial center.

The Forum Culiacan shopping mall anchors the district, but the outdoor spaces are the real draw: the central esplanade hosts public events, food trucks cluster along the water, and on weekends the area fills with Culiacanenses strolling and socialising. The juxtaposition with the shabby vitality of the old center makes for an interesting tour of the city's two faces.
