Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe is Ensenada's main Catholic church and the most prominent building in the town centre. The twin towers are visible from much of the city and serve as a navigation point when you are finding your way around. Construction of the current building was completed in the mid-20th century, though the parish dates to the late 19th century.

The interior is cool and calm, with good stained glass and a devotional atmosphere despite the steady stream of tourists. The cathedral became the seat of the Diocese of Ensenada in 2007. Mass is held several times daily. The plaza in front is a gathering point for the neighbourhood and a pleasant place to sit in the mornings.
