Ensenada rewards those who move beyond the cruise-ship strip. The wine country of Valle de Guadalupe to the northeast, the marine spectacle at La Bufadora to the south, and the fish market at the Malecon together make a stay of two or three days worthwhile. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe anchors the town centre, while the old Hotel Riviera del Pacifico speaks to a more glamorous era.
