Templo y Exconvento San Francisco de Asisi is one of Queretaro's key colonial religious sites. Construction began in 1589, with the church completed in 1640 and the cloister in 1698.
The complex is worth a deliberate stop for its ornate interior, historic role as Queretaro's former cathedral, and central location near the old city's main sights.
