El Camaronero ("The Shrimp Man") is one of the most popular spots on the main plaza for a full seafood meal. The kitchen does the full range of Nayarit coast cooking: camarones al mojo de ajo (shrimp in garlic butter), ceviche tostadas, fish tacos, and the inevitable zarandeado. Portions are generous and prices are low. The outdoor tables under the portal fill up on weekend lunches with families from Tepic who make the drive specifically to eat here. Arrive early at lunch or expect a wait.
