Cathedral of Tampico

Late-19th-century neoclassical cathedral anchoring Tampico's historic centre.

The Cathedral of Tampico is the main church of the city centre, built in the late 19th century in a sober neoclassical style. Its twin towers and pale facade make it one of the clearest landmarks around the central plazas.

It is best seen as part of a walk through old Tampico, together with Plaza de la Libertad and the port-era buildings near the river.
