Norte Brewing Co. is one of the anchors of Tijuana's craft beer scene, a movement that has made the city one of the most interesting places for beer in Latin America. The brewery operates a full taproom in the Centro neighbourhood, a sprawling space with communal tables, a large bar, and a rotating selection of twenty or more house-brewed beers.
The range covers the full spectrum — IPAs, stouts, lagers, and a regular selection of experimental and seasonal beers that draw on Mexican flavours (hibiscus, tamarind, horchata) without being gimmicky. The staff know the beers well and are happy to walk visitors through the selection.
The taproom serves food — tacos and small plates — but the kitchen is secondary to the beer programme. Weekend afternoons are the busiest and most sociable time; weekday evenings are quieter and easier for sampling.
