Villahermosa's Carlos Rovirosa Pérez International Airport (VSA) has direct flights to Mexico City (about an hour), Cancún, Monterrey, and a handful of other Mexican cities. International connections require a transit through Mexico City or another hub. Several Mexican carriers serve the route to Mexico City regularly throughout the day.
By road, Villahermosa is on the main Gulf Coast highway (MEX-180) and is about 750 kilometres from Mexico City — a twelve-hour drive or an overnight bus journey. First-class bus services (ADO) connect Villahermosa to Palenque (about two hours), Mérida (five hours), Mexico City, Oaxaca, and other major cities. The bus terminal is central and well-served.
