Curaçao Rif Mangrove Park protects an urban wetland immediately west of Otrobanda. An elevated boardwalk runs for just over a kilometre through the mangroves, with interpretation panels, viewing platforms, and an observation tower for watching herons, pelicans, fish, and other life in the shallow water.
The park is peaceful despite its position beside the cruise terminal. Allow about ninety minutes for an unhurried walk, bring binoculars, and check current admission hours. Visitors must stay on the boardwalk to avoid damaging the mangrove roots and nursery habitat below.
