Gouverneur de Rouville occupies a restored 19th-century mansion on the Otrobanda waterfront, with a terrace looking directly across the harbour at the Handelskade — arguably the best restaurant view in Willemstad. The menu leans toward local Curaçaoan and Caribbean dishes: keshi yena, stoba, grilled fish with funchi (the local cornmeal porridge), and a good selection of seafood.
The setting is the main draw, but the food is genuinely good rather than coast-on-the-view decent. It is popular for lunch when the cruise crowd packs Punda; evenings are more relaxed. Prices are moderate for the quality and location. Reservations recommended at weekends.
