The Darién's Caribbean coast has remote beaches that see almost no tourism. Capurgana and Sapzurro, accessible by boat from Puerto Obaldía and technically just over the Colombian border, are the most visited — small villages with black-sand beaches, good snorkelling, and a slower pace than anywhere on the Panamanian tourist trail. La Miel beach, a short walk from Sapzurro, is particularly quiet and beautiful. Access to all of these requires a boat from the Panamanian side; there are no roads.
