Port Elizabeth is Bequia's only town — a small, easy-going collection of shops, ferry dock, market, and a few churches strung along the head of Admiralty Bay. The whole place can be walked in 20 minutes. The ferry from Kingstown lands at the main jetty, where minibus drivers and water taxis wait for arriving passengers.
Sights are modest — the small fish market, a fruit and vegetable stand under tarpaulins, a few craft shops selling the model boats Bequia is known for — but the texture of an unhurried Caribbean village is the appeal. The town has no nightlife to speak of; for sundowners and dinner, walk along the Belmont Walkway around to the harbour-front restaurants.
