Store Bay

Lively local beach near the airport, famous for crab and dumpling vendors

Store Bay is the most accessible beach from Crown Point airport — about five minutes by taxi — and the most animated. Unlike the manicured Pigeon Point, Store Bay has a genuinely local feel: a row of food stalls run by competing cooks, picnic tables, and a steady traffic of Tobagonians as well as visitors. The beach itself is compact and very swimmable, with calm water and a good view toward Pigeon Point across the bay.

The food is the real draw. The stalls specialise in crab and dumpling, pelau (a rice-and-pigeon-pea one-pot), and fresh bake with shark. The most famous vendor is Miss Trim, who has been feeding people here for decades. Glass-bottom boat tours to Buccoo Reef also depart from Store Bay, making it the obvious base if you want reef access without paying the Pigeon Point entrance fee. Arrive mid-morning to beat the heat, then eat lunch from the stalls.
