Tobago's activities revolve around its natural assets: beaches, coral reefs, rainforest, and birdlife. The southwestern end of the island has the most accessible sites; the northeast rewards those willing to make the drive.
The island has some of the best diving in the Eastern Caribbean. The waters off Speyside are famous for manta rays and enormous barrel sponges. Buccoo Reef near Crown Point is accessible by glass-bottom boat tour for non-divers. Main Ridge Forest Reserve is the oldest protected forest in the Western Hemisphere and excellent for birding.
