Pine Cay

Private Turks and Caicos island between Providenciales and North Caicos, with no paved roads.

Pine Cay is a small private island between Providenciales and North Caicos, accessible only to guests of The Meridian Club, a low-key resort that has been operating here since the 1970s. There are no day-trippers, no day visitors, and no public ferry.

The island is covered in casuarina pines and ringed with an almost entirely deserted beach. The surrounding waters sit on the Caicos Barrier Reef — the third-largest barrier reef in the world — and the snorkelling and diving are excellent. Flamingos visit regularly from North Caicos, feeding in the tidal ponds along the island's nature trails.

If you are not staying at the Meridian Club, Pine Cay is essentially off limits.
