The Alabama Symphony Orchestra performs at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center on the UAB campus. The 1,300-seat main auditorium and the smaller Jemison Concert Hall host classical concerts, touring performers, and special events throughout the year. The ASO has punched above its weight for decades, attracting nationally prominent conductors and soloists.
Check the schedule if you're visiting during the September-May season. The center also brings in touring Broadway productions, dance companies, and world music performers. The UAB campus location is a 10-minute walk from Five Points South.
