A multi-use trail running along Shades Creek through the Homewood and Mountain Brook neighborhoods south of Birmingham. The greenway is one of the more pleasant outdoor options near the city for cycling or jogging, passing through wooded creek corridor with minimal road crossings.
The trail connects to the regional trail network and can be extended into longer rides or runs. Access points are at Crestline School in Mountain Brook, Homewood's Patriot Park, and several other points along the route. A good early morning option if you're staying in the Southside area.
