Girdwood Depot

The Alaska Railroad depot at Girdwood is a small wooden station that handles passenger trains on the Anchorage–Seward route, the most scenic rail line in the state. In summer the daily Coastal Classic train stops here on its way to and from Seward, giving access to Girdwood without a car.

The depot itself is a charming, low timber building in classic Alaska Railroad style — green roof, white-painted clapboard, a handful of benches on the platform. Train days only; otherwise the station is closed.
