Getting Around

A car is the most practical way to explore Flagstaff and the surrounding region. Most of the attractions — the Grand Canyon, Wupatki, Walnut Canyon, Arizona Snowbowl — require driving. Downtown itself is walkable and the Amtrak station, hotels, restaurants, and bars are all within easy walking distance of each other.

Mountain Transit Authority (MTA) runs local bus service within the city, useful for getting between downtown and Northern Arizona University. Uber and Lyft operate in Flagstaff. The historic Route 66 strip can be walked end to end in about 20 minutes.
