Flagstaff is an outdoor town with good options year-round. In winter there is skiing at Arizona Snowbowl; in summer the surrounding national forests offer hiking, mountain biking, and camping. The Arboretum at Flagstaff, just outside town, has one of the largest collections of high-country wildflowers in the country and hosts birds-of-prey programs on weekends.
