Salt River Tubing and Recreation is the classic hot-weather float trip on the Lower Salt River east of Mesa. Tubing here is less about adrenaline than about desert scenery, cold water, and a long lazy drift below the Superstition and Tonto National Forest landscapes.
It is seasonal and weather-dependent, and it requires practical planning: sun protection, water, footwear, and transport logistics matter. For summer visitors, though, it is one of the more memorable ways to experience the desert edge of the Phoenix area.
