The Garden Cafe

The Garden Cafe sits adjacent to the Colorado River State Historic Park and has been the go-to spot for breakfast and lunch in Yuma for years. The setting is the draw — tables under orange trees in a garden courtyard, shaded and surprisingly lush for a desert city. Snowbirds discovered it long ago, so expect a wait on winter weekend mornings.

The menu leans toward American brunch classics — eggs, pancakes, French toast — with a few Sonoran-influenced dishes that make use of the border proximity. Sunday brunch is the main event, but weekday breakfasts are quieter and just as good. Lunch service runs until early afternoon.

Address: 250 Madison Ave, near the historic park riverfront.
