Lute's Casino is not a casino — it's a vintage American bar and grill in historic downtown Yuma that's been open since 1939 and hasn't tried very hard to update itself since. The walls are covered in decades of accumulated junk: stuffed animals, old signs, sports memorabilia, celebrity photos, and whatever else the owners felt like hanging up. It is wonderfully eccentric and completely sincere about it.
The food is straightforward American bar food — burgers, hot dogs, chili — with a house specialty called the Especial that involves a hot dog split and topped with chili, cheese, and onions. Cold beer, strong margaritas, and a genuinely local crowd make this a better lunch stop than any chain restaurant in town. It's also one of the few places in Yuma that has been exactly the same for as long as anyone can remember.
Address: 221 S Main St, downtown Yuma.
