When to Go

Spring (April–May) and fall (September–October) are the best times to visit Eureka Springs. The Ozark forests are spectacular in fall colour, typically peaking in mid-October, and the town fills with visitors for the annual Antique Car Show and various arts festivals. Spring brings wildflowers throughout the hills and more moderate crowds than summer.

Summer (June–August) is the busiest period — the town is lively but accommodation is expensive and the heat can be oppressive. Winter is cold and quiet, with some businesses reducing hours. Bald eagles gather at Beaver Lake and along the White River from December through February, which draws birders to the area.
