Getting Around

Downtown Little Rock is walkable — the River Market District, Old State House, Historic Arkansas Museum, and Clinton Presidential Center are all within ten minutes on foot of each other. MacArthur Park and the Quapaw Quarter are a fifteen-minute walk south.

The Rock Region Metro operates buses throughout the city, but the schedule is infrequent and routes are oriented toward commuters. A car is useful if you want to reach Central High School (about two miles southwest of downtown) or explore SoMa.

The Arkansas River Trail is a 15.6-mile paved loop crossing the river on two bridges and running through both Little Rock and North Little Rock. It is excellent for cycling and running and passes several major attractions. Bike rental is available near the River Market.
