Historic Arkansas Museum

The Historic Arkansas Museum occupies a block of carefully restored antebellum buildings in the River Market District, including the oldest surviving structures in Little Rock. The oldest, the Hinderliter Grog Shop, dates from around 1827 and is one of the few pre-statehood buildings anywhere in Arkansas still standing on its original site.

The museum collection focuses on Arkansas history and decorative arts from the frontier period through the early 20th century, with an impressive assembly of Arkansas-made knives, rifles, and silverware. There is also a working blacksmith shop and a reconstructed 1850s kitchen demonstrating period cooking techniques.

Free admission. Closed Mondays. 200 E. 3rd St.
