Pinnacle Mountain State Park

Summit hikes, river lowlands, and big Ouachita foothill views just outside Little Rock.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park is the easiest way to turn a Little Rock stay into a real outdoor day. The park protects a distinctive cone-shaped summit west of the city, with forest, river bottomland, and ridge trails around the Big and Little Maumelle rivers.

The summit trails are short but steep enough to feel like a climb, and the reward is a wide view back toward the Arkansas River valley and the edge of the Ouachita foothills. It works well for active travellers with a car: go early in hot weather, carry water, and combine the hike with the visitor centre or nearby river overlooks.
