Ghost Town

The Ghost Town section of Knott's Berry Farm is the original park, built up gradually in the 1940s when Walter Knott began moving in old buildings from real California ghost towns to entertain customers waiting for tables at his wife's chicken restaurant. The hotel from Calico, the schoolhouse from Beulah, and the jail from Arizona are all genuine — Knott had them dismantled, shipped, and reassembled here.

It remains the most atmospheric corner of the park, with creaking boardwalks, costumed gunslingers, a working blacksmith, and the Calico Mine Ride taking you through animatronic recreations of a 19th-century gold mine. Entry is included with the main park ticket.
