Verve Coffee Roasters started in Santa Cruz before opening locations in Los Angeles and Japan, and the original location on Seabright Avenue remains the best. The coffee is seriously good — single-origin espresso and filter coffees sourced with the kind of care that makes specialty coffee worth paying attention to, without the affectation that sometimes accompanies it.
