Hanford Amtrak Station

Restored Spanish-revival depot from 1898, still serving the San Joaquins

Address 200 N. Santa Fe Ave., Hanford 93230

The original Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway depot was built in 1898 and was for decades the reason Hanford existed. Today it still serves Amtrak's San Joaquins line, with several trains a day running between Bakersfield and Oakland or Sacramento. The Spanish-revival building has been carefully restored and is a pleasant place to wait, even if you are not catching a train.

Visalia, 20 miles to the east, has no rail station of its own and uses Hanford's. There is a connecting Thruway bus to Visalia for ticketed Amtrak passengers.
