A specialty coffee roaster and café in the R Street Corridor, one of the first businesses to establish itself in the neighbourhood and still one of the best. Old Soul roasts its own beans at the Weatherstone location and serves them at multiple Sacramento cafés, but the R Street space has the best atmosphere — an industrial warehouse interior with exposed brick, high ceilings, and large windows that make the most of Sacramento's abundant sunlight.
The café serves food as well as coffee: breakfast items, sandwiches, and a pastry case that changes daily. It fills with a mix of creatives, remote workers, and neighbourhood regulars. On weekend mornings, the queue can extend out the door.
