Broderick Roadhouse

A casual American restaurant in Old Sacramento known for its beef burger — one of the few places in the historic district where the food is genuinely worth eating rather than merely adequate for a tourist area. The beef is sourced from California ranches, the buns are baked locally, and the menu is short enough to suggest that the kitchen does what it does well.

The building itself is historic Old Sacramento fabric, with exposed brick and high ceilings. The bar has a good selection of California craft beers on tap. Good for lunch after the Railroad Museum; the combination of the two is a solid half-day in Old Sacramento.
