Redondo Beach is in the South Bay area of Los Angeles and is reached from anywhere in the LA basin by car, ride-share, or (less conveniently) by light rail.
From LAX, Redondo is the closest beach city — 6 miles by car, around 20 minutes outside rush hour via Imperial Highway and the 405 South. Ride-share fares run $25–$40.
By car from downtown LA, take the 110 Harbor Freeway south to the 405, then the 405 south to Inglewood Avenue and head west. From the Westside, the 105 west to the 405 south, then west on Inglewood. Allow 30–45 minutes off-peak and substantially more in rush hour.
By Metro, the C Line (formerly Green Line) terminates at Redondo Beach station on Marine Avenue at the northeast edge of the city, about 1.5 miles from the pier. From the station, the local Beach Cities Transit bus or a short ride-share covers the last mile. The K Line and the C Line connect at Aviation/LAX for trips to and from downtown LA.
By Pacific Surfliner, the nearest Amtrak station is in Los Angeles or Long Beach; there is no train service directly to Redondo.
