Things to Do

Santa Clarita's biggest draw is unambiguously Six Flags Magic Mountain, one of the world's premier thrill parks. Beyond the coasters, the valley has some genuinely good nature and history — Placerita Canyon preserves the site of California's first gold discovery, and the William S. Hart estate is one of the most evocative remnants of the silent film era. Vasquez Rocks to the east is one of Southern California's most dramatic geological formations — and one of its most filmed. The St. Francis Dam ruins in San Francisquito Canyon are a sobering reminder of the valley's more catastrophic history.
