Tacos Por Favor on Olympic Boulevard is a no-frills Mexican counter that has been feeding Santa Monica residents since 1984. The breakfast burrito — scrambled eggs, beans, cheese, salsa, wrapped in a flour tortilla — is the famous item, and people drive across the city for it on weekend mornings. The tacos are also good: simple, well-seasoned, with fresh tortillas. Cash only, counter service, no frills.
The Pico–Olympic corridor here is the Mexican-American centre of the westside, and Tacos Por Favor is one of its best and longest-running spots. The building is small and the parking lot fills up; go during off-peak hours if you are not in the mood to wait outside.
