Santa Monica has three main shopping corridors. Third Street Promenade is the busiest — a pedestrianized stretch with chain stores, bookshops, and street performers. Montana Avenue, north of downtown, runs to independent boutiques and upscale clothing. Main Street retains some Art Deco character and has a good mix of galleries and antique shops.
The Saturday Farmers Market at 2nd Street and Arizona is one of the better ones in the LA area — chefs shop here, and the produce reflects that.
