Sacramento River Trail

20-mile riverside trail connecting Sundial Bridge to Keswick Dam

A paved and unpaved trail system that runs along both banks of the Sacramento River through Redding. The trail connects the Sundial Bridge to Keswick Dam to the north and extends several miles downstream as well — over 20 miles of trail in total. Cyclists, joggers, and walkers share it, though it rarely feels crowded except near the Sundial Bridge on weekends. The riparian corridor is genuinely beautiful: cottonwood and willow shade the banks, ospreys fish the river, and the terrain shifts from flat parkland near the city to wilder stretches upstream.
