The town's public lakefront — a small sandy beach, a grassy park, picnic tables, and a playground, all directly in the centre. The water is famously clear and very cold even in August, but the beach drops off gently and is a good spot for kids. Free summer concerts happen on Sunday evenings.
Unlike most of the lake's shoreline, which is locked up by private cabins or state parks with entry fees, Commons Beach is right at the foot of the main street. Park-and-walk is realistic.
