Boulder's outdoor offerings are its greatest draw. Chautauqua Park at the foot of the Flatirons gives access to the most photographed hiking terrain in Colorado; the Flatirons themselves draw rock climbers from across the country. The surrounding Open Space and Mountain Parks system adds hundreds of kilometres of trails.
In town, Pearl Street Mall is the four-block pedestrian heart of the city — street performers, good cafes and restaurants, and an architecture that mixes Victorian commercial buildings with the mountains visible at the end of every street. The Dushanbe Teahouse is an extraordinary piece of Tajik craftsmanship, gifted to Boulder by its sister city. The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History on campus has a good collection of paleontology and anthropology. The Fox Theatre is the city's main live music venue.
