Durango eats well for its size. The downtown stretch of Main has more good restaurants than a town of 19,000 has any business sustaining, and the local craft brewing scene is exceptional. Look for trout (often from the Animas), green-chile-everything (the southwest Colorado–New Mexico hybrid is fierce here), and elk or bison when in season.
