Legislative Hall

Delaware's working state capitol, set beside Dover's older colonial State House

Legislative Hall is Delaware's present-day capitol, a restrained brick building that sits just off The Green and shows how small-state government works at close range. It is not as old as the nearby Old State House, but that contrast is exactly the point: the two buildings tell the story of Dover's political centre shifting from colonial chambers to a modern legislature without leaving the same few blocks.

Visitors come for the public galleries, the portraits, and the sense that state politics here still has a human scale. If you are already walking Dover's historic core, this is a useful stop between The Green, the Old State House, and the state archives.
